A weekend in the mountains | A leadership + wellness experiential
Possibility. Freedom. Power. Peace. Friendship
Carpooling up the mountain, six of us set off for a weekend of personal growth and potential. Our intention is realized. Relationships strengthen, health soars, minds clear, hearts let go.
A glimpse into our Fall 2016 weekend retreat…
Cozy in our Big Bear lodge, we communally cook a plant-based menu. Laughing, chopping, roasting, sautéing brings us together in simple yet profound ways. We share in gratitude each meal prepared by us, for us. And we enjoy the cohesive community it creates.
There is a wooden bridge running through an endless meadow. In the early mornings and late afternoons, we head here for a practice in yoga and meditation. The connection to the body and breath, the mountain air, and the breathtaking views, become a sacred space for stillness. We silently share in peace, clarity, music, and vision.
Ready to further explore our surroundings, we take off hiking, soaking in nature’s high vibrations. Due to the fire years ago, our hike juxtaposes barren burnt trees with vibrant green. It is impossible not to be drawn in to this contradiction in nature, and leaves us in awe. Finding a giant beautiful rock formation, we climb to the top. Laughing, playing, and soaking in the peace that comes from sitting high up, we overlook the camp.
Our minds and bodies open and receptive to learning, we delve into our workshop series of building mindset, identifying our value system, communicating with empathy and tact, making decisions with integrity, and forgiveness. With mantra watercolors and wooden power statements, the arts infuse the growth and development process. At closing campfire, each girl reads her carefully articulated power statement to the group, declaring who she is and what she stands for. With vulnerability and support she opens herself up to her own truth and releases it into the world.
The weekend flies by, but each of us leaves with major takeaways. It is a truly unforgettable experience. A catalyst to bring the mountain peace into everyday city life.
